Gift card amounts will depend on available funds, and the need of each individual or family, S.A.F.E. will determine the amount on an individual basis.
Non Members of our Community may apply for Grocery Assistance one time anytime the Grocery Assistance Application is open; however they may ONLY receive actual assistance up to twice (2 times) a month.
Members of S.A.F.E may apply for Grocery Assistance one time anytime the Grocery Assistance Application is open; members may receive actual assistance up to four (4) times per month.

S.A.F.E. offers a Grocery Assistance Ministry for members and our community; we raise money to help assist our members and non members of our community. This Ministry is funded through the Quarterly Raffle and Donations.
This ministry helps to pay for groceries for members and our community that need a little extra help stretching their food and household supplies. S.A.F.E.’s Grocery Assistance Ministry provides fresh store bought food, hot, cold, vegetables, fruits, canned goods, pre made foods etc., and also includes household goods and toiletries such as paper towels, toilet paper, or ibuprofen etc., anything available from the store that is considered groceries (alcohol and tobacco products DO NOT qualify), as each individual or family will be required to go to the grocery store and shop for themselves, allowing them to budget and meal plan according to their needs, shop with convenience and dignity, and they receive store bought food and not second hand items.
Grocery assistance availability depends on funds available from month to month through S.A.F.E. Housing Inc. Members and the community may apply when the application process is open. Grocery assistance will be approved on the basis of need, not on a first come first served basis, and not everyone who applies will receive assistance depending on available funds, Military Members that apply receive priority, members that apply receive second priority, non members of our community will then be considered.
Anyone who applies for Grocery Assistance will be required to submit proof they need the assistance, they will also be required to do an interview and analysis to determine financial need and documented proof may also be required before receiving Grocery Assistance.
S.A.F.E. will issue gift cards to those that receive grocery assistance either by mail or by e-mail. Upon using the gift card the approved person will be required to submit original receipts to S.A.F.E. as proof they used it for that purpose. Failure to submit the receipts as proof will result in that person being permanently banned from S.A.F.E. and any membership.
